Seitan Saute with Cilantro & Lime

"It's quarter to 3, there's no one in the place cept you and me."  Yup that's the song that was running through my head when I was up at the wee hour of 3am this morning.  Shocking as it is (read isn't) a song was going through my head at that hour. Needless to say after trying to quiet the song in my head and counting sheep I was still wide awake.

What was I to do with this unexpected time.  Write a new post of course!

I tried to get fancy with my photo!

Somehow for the last few summers I've missed having corn.  Shocking I know but oh so true.  I found a recipe on The PPK for Seitan Saute with Cilantro Lime.  Perfect!  I know there are a few of you out there that can't stand the taste of cilantro but personally I love it.  I had just made a batch of seitan and was ready to try this recipe.

Cooking up the goodies

This was pretty easy to pull together and the flavors were wonderful.

I tried to get a little "fancy" with my photographs but this may be one of the few times it happens so don't fall over in shock.

Topped with some guacamole I had

I would make this recipe again.  It would also be yummy as filling for a taco.  Boy I wish I had this with me at work it's making me hungry in a drooly kinda way.  Is it wrong to drool over things you've made?

Until next time.  If you try this recipe let me know what you think.

  1. I love the combo of cilantro and lime so I can just imagine how good your dish was.

Maybe I should start writing posts at 3 AM instead of tying to go back to sleep! I'd have a lot more posts, that's for sure. :)

  2. I printed this off the PPK blog the other day to use up some seitan from the freezer. It looks great, will definitely have to get it made.

  3. that does look like it would fix up some lovely tacos, and I bet it would go great with avocado. And, whatever anyone says, loads of coriander!
