Any travel tips?

Last night I came home ready to make something and blog about it. Sadly everything was against that happening... the market didn't have one of the items I needed, I left my camera at work, and my internet was down.

I will be posting something later today but this is my make up post for yesterday.

I am heading to Morocco, with a stop in New York, in October.  It's my first time traveling as a vegan and I'm wondering if there are any suggestions you have for me.  I'm traveling with my mother and want to make this as easy for both of us as I can as we'll be gone for a month.  I'm also concerned about not getting enough greens.

I am doing some research on the internet but thought I would throw it out to all of you as well.

Any must got to places in New York or Morocco??

Thanks in advance for any tips and suggestions.

  1. You should definitely go to Blossom in New York. I had the most amazing meal EVER there! I haven't been to Morocco, but I've been to nearby Tunisia and really enjoyed all the fresh, tasty salads that North African cuisine offers. Happy travelling!

  2. Obviously, happycow.net will help! I've never been to Morocco, so you might want to check happycow for there. Also, search Amey's blog, Vegan Eats & Treats, because she has been to Morocco and has the scoop on it.

NYC, there are a wealth of options and it depends really on what you like best! I like Candle 79 and Teany best. That being said, I haven't been there in about 5 years and haven't yet tried Lula's Sweet Apothecary (please go so I can live vicariously through you!), Hangawi, and a number of other places. If I were you, I'd probably search Hannah's blog, BitterSweet, Gena's blog, Choosing Raw, and the Candy Penny blog. I can't wait to hear all about your trip! Have FUN!

  3. In NYC, you really can't go wrong with all of the great vegan eateries around. There are too many excellent options to list, but one of my favorites is Kajitsu. It's definitely a splurge, and worth every dollar. Either way, I hope you share about your experiences and have a great time!
